One-of-a-kind hand-knotted piece

No two are alike - each rug carries its own pattern, colour balance and handmade character

Three rounded guls travel down the centre of this Afghan Turkoman Wool Rug, giving the design a clear vertical cadence. Ivory and green details stand against the warm red ground, while the surrounding borders move between broader curved forms and tighter geometric bands, creating depth without overwhelming the field.

The hand-knotted wool surface gives the pattern a grounded, tactile character. Dark brown outlines hold the composition together, allowing the quieter centre and richly layered frame to balance one another. Compact but fully resolved, the rug draws its presence from rhythm, proportion and the measured strength of traditional Turkoman design.

Care & Maintenance

  • Hand-knotted wool rugs are made to last with the right care. Vacuum gently using a suction-only setting, rotate the rug occasionally for even wear, and blot any marks promptly with a clean cloth rather than rubbing.
  • For deeper cleaning, professional rug cleaning is recommended to help protect the wool fibres, natural dyes and handmade structure of the rug.

Note

  • Each rug is professionally photographed to represent its colours as accurately as possible, while natural light, pile direction and digital display settings may create subtle variations in tone.
  • Each hand-knotted rug is coloured using 100% vegetable dyes, giving the fibres natural depth, gentle tonal movement and the individual character of handmade weaving.
  • Over time, vegetable-dyed handmade rugs may gently soften in tone, adding to the natural ageing and textile character that makes each piece unique.
