Each hand-knotted rug is one of a kind, but recommended handmade pieces are shown below.

Octagonal gul medallions anchor the red field of this Afghan Turkoman Runner Rug, creating a strong tribal panel within a slim runner format. The dark charcoal border, geometric end sections and small ivory accents give the design structure, while the deep red ground brings warmth and visual depth.

Hand knotted in wool and coloured with vegetable dyes, this red Afghan runner is well suited to hallway spaces, beside a bed, or anywhere a narrow handmade rug can add pattern and character. The visible fringe, detailed border work and folded-corner reverse give a closer sense of texture, finish and traditional Afghan Turkoman craftsmanship.

Care & Maintenance

  • Hand-knotted wool rugs are made to last with the right care. Vacuum gently using a suction-only setting, rotate the rug occasionally for even wear, and blot any marks promptly with a clean cloth rather than rubbing.
  • For deeper cleaning, professional rug cleaning is recommended to help protect the wool fibres, natural dyes and hand-knotted structure of the rug.

Note

  • Each rug is professionally photographed to represent its colours as accurately as possible, while natural light, pile direction and digital display settings may create subtle variations in tone.
  • Where additional colour is required, the wool in our hand-knotted rugs is coloured exclusively with vegetable dyes, complementing the fibre’s natural tonal variation and the individual character of the weave.
  • Over time, vegetable-dyed handmade rugs may gently soften in tone, adding to the natural ageing and textile character that makes each piece unique.
