Afghan Turkoman Hand-Knotted Wool Rug - 240 x 176 cm
Afghan Turkoman Hand-Knotted Wool Rug - 240 x 176 cm
One-of-a-kind hand-knotted piece
No two are alike - each rug carries its own pattern, colour balance and handmade character
At the edges, the design gathers into a deep burgundy and charcoal frame. Diamonds and narrow geometric bands interlock there, setting off eight large guls in two balanced columns on the red field. Small ivory marks give the darker motifs crisp definition.
Hand-knotted in Afghanistan with a pure wool pile, this Afghan Turkoman rug sets fine pattern against bold form. Its central guls make an immediate impression, while the border reveals more as the eye follows its layered detail.

Care & Maintenance
- Hand-knotted wool rugs are made to last with the right care. Vacuum gently using a suction-only setting, rotate the rug occasionally for even wear, and blot any marks promptly with a clean cloth rather than rubbing.
- For deeper cleaning, professional rug cleaning is recommended to help protect the wool fibres, natural dyes and hand-knotted structure of the rug.
Note
- Each rug is professionally photographed to represent its colours as accurately as possible, while natural light, pile direction and digital display settings may create subtle variations in tone.
- Where additional colour is required, the wool in our hand-knotted rugs is coloured exclusively with vegetable dyes, complementing the fibre’s natural tonal variation and the individual character of the weave.
- Over time, vegetable-dyed handmade rugs may gently soften in tone, adding to the natural ageing and textile character that makes each piece unique.
