One-of-a-kind hand-knotted piece

No two are alike - each rug carries its own pattern, colour balance and handmade character

From a distance, this runner reads as a long plane of saturated red. Up close, the surface resolves into a tight diamond lattice alive with small crosses and flashes of ivory, ochre and blue. Dark borders run almost like rails along the edges, holding the profusion of motifs in precise order.

Its character lies in that tension between abundance and discipline. Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from pure wool pile, the Afghan Kunduz runner feels richly worked without becoming restless; every shift in colour strengthens the rhythm of the whole.

Care & Maintenance

  • Hand-knotted wool rugs are made to last with the right care. Vacuum gently using a suction-only setting, rotate the rug occasionally for even wear, and blot any marks promptly with a clean cloth rather than rubbing.
  • For deeper cleaning, professional rug cleaning is recommended to help protect the wool fibres, natural dyes and hand-knotted structure of the rug.

Note

  • Each rug is professionally photographed to represent its colours as accurately as possible, while natural light, pile direction and digital display settings may create subtle variations in tone.
  • Where additional colour is required, the wool in our hand-knotted rugs is coloured exclusively with vegetable dyes, complementing the fibre’s natural tonal variation and the individual character of the weave.
  • Over time, vegetable-dyed handmade rugs may gently soften in tone, adding to the natural ageing and textile character that makes each piece unique.
