One-of-a-kind hand-knotted piece

No two are alike - each rug carries its own pattern, colour balance and handmade character

Rust red frames a procession of narrow patterned bands filled with diamonds, hooked forms and rosettes in ivory, sky blue, navy, ochre and brown. Each band changes its sequence, inviting the eye to follow shifts in colour and geometry along the runner. Fine guard borders hold the detail in disciplined order, while pale fringe softens each end.

The Khurjeen name recalls khorjin, woven double saddlebags historically used to transport everyday belongings from Anatolia to Central Asia. Rather than copying one particular bag, this Afghan hand-knotted runner organises compact, repeated geometry into an elongated pure wool composition suited to a hallway.

Care & Maintenance

  • Hand-knotted wool rugs are made to last with the right care. Vacuum gently using a suction-only setting, rotate the rug occasionally for even wear, and blot any marks promptly with a clean cloth rather than rubbing.
  • For deeper cleaning, professional rug cleaning is recommended to help protect the wool fibres, natural dyes and hand-knotted structure of the rug.

Note

  • Each rug is professionally photographed to represent its colours as accurately as possible, while natural light, pile direction and digital display settings may create subtle variations in tone.
  • Where additional colour is required, the wool in our hand-knotted rugs is coloured exclusively with vegetable dyes, complementing the fibre’s natural tonal variation and the individual character of the weave.
  • Over time, vegetable-dyed handmade rugs may gently soften in tone, adding to the natural ageing and textile character that makes each piece unique.
