One-of-a-kind hand-knotted piece

No two are alike - each rug carries its own pattern, colour balance and handmade character

A dark stepped axis runs through the centre of this Afghan Khal Mohammadi Wool Rug, joining three diamond medallions into one continuous composition. Ivory and ochre details cut cleanly through the warm red field, while angular motifs along the sides give the pattern a measured sense of movement.

Hand knotted in wool, the design feels graphic without losing its traditional depth. Dark blue geometry gives the field weight, while the layered borders progress from compact rosettes to broader tribal bands. Each element reinforces the next, creating a clearly structured Afghan rug with rhythm, contrast and a strong visual identity.

Care & Maintenance

  • Hand-knotted wool rugs are made to last with the right care. Vacuum gently using a suction-only setting, rotate the rug occasionally for even wear, and blot any marks promptly with a clean cloth rather than rubbing.
  • For deeper cleaning, professional rug cleaning is recommended to help protect the wool fibres, natural dyes and hand-knotted structure of the rug.

Note

  • Each rug is professionally photographed to represent its colours as accurately as possible, while natural light, pile direction and digital display settings may create subtle variations in tone.
  • Where additional colour is required, the wool in our hand-knotted rugs is coloured exclusively with vegetable dyes, complementing the fibre’s natural tonal variation and the individual character of the weave.
  • Over time, vegetable-dyed handmade rugs may gently soften in tone, adding to the natural ageing and textile character that makes each piece unique.
