One-of-a-kind hand-knotted piece

No two are alike - each rug carries its own pattern, colour balance and handmade character

The cream field gives this Afghan Kazak runner a striking sense of light. Blue and red medallions mark its length, with small starbursts and green flourishes between them. At the edges, red and blue shapes interlock in a closely worked border, bringing richness to the open centre.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from pure wool pile, the rug carries traditional Kazak geometry with the clarity of a fine drawing: bold forms, deliberate space and colour placed exactly where it matters.

Care & Maintenance

  • Hand-knotted wool rugs are made to last with the right care. Vacuum gently using a suction-only setting, rotate the rug occasionally for even wear, and blot any marks promptly with a clean cloth rather than rubbing.
  • For deeper cleaning, professional rug cleaning is recommended to help protect the wool fibres, natural dyes and hand-knotted structure of the rug.

Note

  • Each rug is professionally photographed to represent its colours as accurately as possible, while natural light, pile direction and digital display settings may create subtle variations in tone.
  • Where additional colour is required, the wool in our hand-knotted rugs is coloured exclusively with vegetable dyes, complementing the fibre’s natural tonal variation and the individual character of the weave.
  • Over time, vegetable-dyed handmade rugs may gently soften in tone, adding to the natural ageing and textile character that makes each piece unique.
