This Afghan Karghai rug feels like a garden composed in wool. A green diamond medallion with a blush centre anchors the beige field. Flowering stems and vase motifs move towards pale blue corners, while a row of small vessels gives the layered border its own rhythm in ochre and warm brown.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from pure wool pile, the rug holds intricate detail within an open composition. Its symmetry is clear from a distance. Come closer, and the small vases, blossoms and colour shifts emerge one by one.
